Sure you just have to rehoop until you get the border around where you want it. Practice on a piece of scrap so you know how to rehoop and where the next piece of the design will go. Use the template that came with the hoop to make sure you get the second hooping straight. Make marks on the fabric where the first hoop was so you know where the next hooping should go. I've done it and it takes practice but once you have done it it becomes easier.

I am not sure this is the right answer, however, I have the endless hoop. The size of the hoop is 5x7. You would have to rehoop at the end of the design. The design should have a stitched mark to help you line up the design when you rehoop. I always draw a straight line on the fabric before I start the design this helps to keep the design straight. You sure can. I'm a strong believer in templates for placement and marking the fabric. It takes a little time to get everything lined up but sure is worth the extra time to get it lined up right. Try it. Good luck Carol!

I have an endless hoop and have used that on borders. However, when I want to use the design too far from an edge I stitch it out in a 'normal' hoop and use the stitch marks for lining up. It takes a bit more care and help lines on the fabric are very useful, but you are certainly not obliged to use an endless hoop. And given the price I paid for it and the use I made of it I could easily have done without it.
