Sure hope you find some friends in ND. Maybe you can get a quilter interested in embroidery and together you can embroider quilt blocks and make a quilt.

So sorry to hear you haven't made new sewing friends yet, but I'm sure it will happen. I hope you have a great visit in Florida next month. Cuties are always here when you need them!

Karen, I understand exactly what you are speaking of - when I moved to NC - in 2000 - I had not one friend there - I didn't have embroidery in my life then - but that was where I found it - then we moved from NC to UT - I had friends - but none of them do embroidery - now my delimina - how to find friends that share my new passion - I have been here almost three years - I have not - until I found one from CUTE - twee (Terri) and she lives a long way from me - we have to plan our days together and I am so pleased with our sisterhood and love for embroidery that we share. While I visited the local sewing center - last week - they mentioned that they may want me to teach a class on FSL - so I am only hoping that I find someone with an interest in it, as well that I can help along. So I am praying that we can build something from all of this - sooner or later.

I think your trip home to Florida will be a great thing for you - no sense in being miserable and cold, too.

Here's praying you find an embroidery friend! If not, go out and make one! Grab one of those quilting gals & offer to do some embroidery sqs for a quilt to donate to somewhere in the area...hospital, for children being removed from their home, etc. You'll be surprised how fast it goes when you are working on different parts of the same project. As a young mother we moved 10 hrs. from my family. I sat for days & cried, then realized no one was going to come to me, so I bundled up my newborn & found a group of older ladies. They loved on me & my baby for yrs!! They are all gone to heaven now, but I still thank God for the love they showed me when I showed up on the doorstep of their meeting..WMU. Sat that baby in his carrier in the middle of the table or the circle of chairs & we ALL found out we could be great friends with those either much younger or much older than ourselves. thinking of you & if you are wandering thru TN, give me a call!! What are friends for? If you find your self in the upper part of SC on your way to FL, PM me and we can meet up. What part of FL are you going to? I used to go to a private Christian school there near Jupiter Island. Close to West Palm... I'm serious about meeting up... :)
