He has been in ill health for many years but it is still hard for her to lose him.
She is lucky in one way, when her husband had his first heart attack 20 years ago he made plans for this time. It will be very helpful to have arrangements already taken care of.

My sister will be making arrangements today at the funeral home. Fortunately my mother came home from the hospital yesterday. I know she wants to be there for support also.

I spent 4 hours with my sister at the funeral home to make arrangements. Even with pre-paid plans there was a lot to do. This is certainly a wake up call for us to make sure our own affairs are in order.
Service will be Friday, my Dad and Stepmom will drive down from Washington.
My sister is of course having a very hard time. For me there is a bit of surrrealism, growing up with my sisters and getting to this point in our lives is strange. This is the first death of someone so close to the family (on my side as opposed to my DH's side) for about 20+ years when our Grandparents and Aunt & Uncle passed.

I am so sorry to read about this. I have been behind reading the Personals. Stay in close contact with your sister if possible. When my husband passed away my sister came from the East Coaste and since has called me every Sunday. It ment a lot to me. Now 5 years later the sunday chat has become a nice routine.
