cry. Rather than bop her right in the mouth (which is what I really wanted to do), I sat down at the computer and started playing games. I've been here all day doing nothing, all my great plans have dissapeared and the house is still a mess and I didn't get any sewing done either! Now I'm more mad at myself than I am at her! A whole day wasted, Oh well, tomorrow's another day! Thanks for letting me vent!

sorry to hear this. Sometimes we need to step back, take a deep breath & see if we can get another perspective on what is wrong. I have learned after raising 4 daughters the youngest of which is now 48 rs. old, to wait 'till I wasn't so upset with one of them before I started. Even if they were the one that mouthed off at me first. I have a hx of a hot temper in my younger yrs.(through an entire set of encyclopedias at my hubby once)LOL one at the time. <br />All he could do is keep ducking. I was very young & newly married. Anyway I learned through the ensuing yrs. that a soft answer or no answer was sometimes the best method. If i waited a while I cooled off & could talk quietly with a daughter & not yell at her & we usually could talk out our differences & she came around to my viewpoint & understood why I said NO OR WHY i COULDN'T SEE IT HER WAY. I hope you 2 get things worked out & I'm glad you could let off steam to us, that's part of being a friend. * 4U

Hope things get better. Tomorrow is a new day. I found sometimes just saying "I'm sorry" goes a long way even though we think the other person is the one that should say it!

It is just one day - better you did what you did - than what you wanted to do.

Honeychyle, I agree with Shirlene. And look on the bright side, you took a vacation day and played games... :) I enjoy doing that sometimes too. If I'm honest I LOVE playing computer games and would do it ALL the time if there wasn't other things I HAD to do. hehehe.

Honeydhyle, I never cursed until I had teenage kids!!! Again, it's usually better in the l-o-n-g run to count in your head and think before running off with hurting words. Good Lunk he he he he

You did the right thing by not doing what you felt like doing. I came from a home where my Dad & Mom both beat me and it doesn't do any good to hurt your children. God made us (them) special and even through we are to correct them, there are so many ways to do that without flying mad. Tomorrow is another day and you can face it and your daughter without any regrets. Computers are good after all! God bless, Judy

Honeychyle, I am so glad you chose to go play games. Once an action has been taken it can't be undone. God was there by your side helping you through the day. Tomorrow is another day and your chores can wait till then.
Blessings and Peace and Hugs

I understand all too well. My problem is not anger ritht now, but depression and frustration. And a lonliness thrown in too. But isn't it wonderful to vent with friends. Hope tomorrow it a much better day.

I do not know how old your daughter is...
BUT I can relate to the war of words!
My daughter is 30 yrs old and there are days that we argue more than when she was 16 yrs old!
I know that I still think of her as my little girl and not a 30 yr old woman, and she thinks of me as an old woman that needs her protection and guidance.
Nothing worse than two strong minded women arguing!
I also lose myself in other things, to distract myself from the hurt I feel. You are not angry with your daughter, you are hurt.
I am sorry to say that when I try to explain to my daughter that I am not angry with her that I am hurt by her actions or reactions it just makes things worse :(

So what we end up doing is sweeping it all under the rug, not the best solution, but it gets us back to our family.
We all have family issues, and sometimes it is just easier to get lost in a mindless game than it is to face the issues.
I was at that point not so long ago.
I felt shame that I let my health problems, my family issues and trying to learn the new serger distract me from what is most important, loving one another the way God intended it to be.
You love your daughter and you know she loves you.
You know you are loved, embrace that.
Most importantly God loves you cherish that!

This is so beautifully said, and I to can relate, my daughter/baby is 35yrs...
Yes the first commandment is 'to love everybody' but isn't it hard to remember that when feelings get hurt.. and pride gets in the way...

It is very hard to remember when our feelings are hurt and those feelings keep building up inside of us.
