my favorite shop. I will also stock up on all the stuff I will be running out of that I can't get here. And of course, a big reunion with that set of freinds. 3 whole days with them. YEA! Yes, my husband is still active duty and no we are not at Minot. We are in Grand Forks. We did visit the town of Minot on our vacation though. We were stationed at Eglin so I will probably stay in a room there. I will have a lot of ground to cover, from Panama City to Pennsacola. Lots of freinds to see and stores to visit. I am already making my list, itinerary will wait.

Have fun and enjoy yourself. Moving can be very difficult. I expect you are counting down the days untill you depart. Years ago when I would visit my parents (who lived 200 miles away) I would always have a long shopping list of bits I knew I could get away and not here. My father thought I was a shopaholic

It's a good feeling to be around family and friends. Shopping your way home is just down right too much fun. Have a safe trip and by all means stop and shop every time you get tired of driving.

I know just how you feel about living someplace and not being able to make friends. We moved from our home state of Nebraska, to a small town in Iowa for a couple years and it was the same as you have described. I worked and even those ladies I worked with had their little groups and wouldn't accept any new comers. I was so happy to move to Arkansas. People are far friendlier. Right away after building our house I made friends and actually was entrused babysitting the neighbor children. We have been here for 10 years now and I hope I don't ever have to leave. I started sitting for the neighbor 2 doors down when the baby was 3 months old and she is now 8 and still comes. She calls us Grandma and Grandpa so she is like our own. I got on a Bunco team and all the others are young ladies and we have a ball. I do their hemming and mending and embroidering. Also answer a lot of questions. I also met 2 friends in one of the yahoo stitching groups here and now we get together at least once a month and talk on the phone a lot.
I have a good friend in Crestview that I used to work with in Nebraska and I need to go visit her one of these days. Maybe when it is cold here I will go there.
I do hope you can make some friends as it get lonely without but you can always come here to Cuties and we will be your friends.

Karen, I'm glad to know where you are in ND. As I've told you before, I grew up in Bismarck and still have most of my family there. Grand Forks is a great city, but so many younger people there with the college and all. Have you ever thought about teaching them sewing? Here in Virginia there are so many young women wanting to learn to sew. I've taught almost all of my neices. Soon I will be teaching my neice-in-law. It's just an idea.
