My dear machine is having a few senior moments. I keep having to recalibrate the computer screen on it:( I have had a long conversation with the super sewing machine shop I use and have been given loads of advice (as usual) BUT it looks like I will have to take the machine off for a holiday/repair. I have not been using my machine recently as I had visitors had there been a problem then they could have taken it back with them and saved me a journey. My dealer is a 2 hour journey each way :( Have anyother Cuties had the problem of the screen on the machine going out of alignment and how it was cured?

I managed to ignore the housework and put a load of ideas I have had for further designs

What machine is it? I had an Ellageo that needed the screen calibrated and the tech placed his fingers in strategic places on the screen after he turned it on. Then he hit another place and the machine did a self test and corrected what was wrong. Another thing to check is if there are any updates for your machine.

Yes I have done this under his instructions and by myself. There is info on how to do this in the instuction book and on the website

Yes, this is my experience. I had sensor screen problems on my Husqvarna Designer II. It was second hand when I bought it but looked brand new and it had been well serviced. However, not long into using it the screen could not be programed properly. Calibrating didn't fix the problem for long. I took it to the mechanic and he had to order a new sensor screen.
The person before me must have used her finger on the touch screen with a strong jabbing motion. She had left fingernail indent marks on it. The mechanic told me to use a stylus and very gently to touch the exact area on the screen. Using the tip of the finger or pad of the thumb is too big an area and can put the sensors out of alignment and eventually cause them to break down.
I bought a proper stylus which was nearly $10 but well worth the price in comparison to a new sensor screen and my husband turned me a redwood stylus as well. Since then I've used only those two tools on the touch screen and after nearly three years the screen still looks in pristine condition without any marks on it at all. I only have to rest the stylus gently on the screen before it works. My screen takes maybe half a second to respond.
The advice I was given was... 'never use your finger nails, scissors, quick unpick or anything else other than the proper stylus to operate the sensor screen, never jab at the screen in an effort to make it work faster or continue to jab in the same place, always treat it gently and give it time to work.'

AlmaG thanks for your reply. I have the stylus and have used it. I am coming to the conclusion that the problem happens after the machine has been on for about one hour, when I have finished on Cute I am going to ring my dealer for further information *2u
