I see we have someone who posted a notice to purchase from their company (unionembroidery). No flower for them.

Is it because they are selling embroidery designs without permission to advertise on this site?

I agree with you. It's the same like mygrafico so often made sales promotion (without paying) here to get customers for their websites (on the first page of bookmarks 6 from 10 are from mygrafico!).
I think Miss Veronika is very pleased if they will book here advertising space instead of announcing their newest articles in the bookmarks. Or is that a place to make promotion? Did I missundertood this category?
Greetings, Bettina

I have noticed a lot of 'free advertising' being done in Projects area, too. Several people are pretty sneaky in slipping them in to that area, and nothing is being done about it.

Yes I have notice a lot of projects that get posted are advertising other sites.

mygrafico advertises his/her graphics and someone else's site that used her design in projects.
Embroidery garden post sometimes her designs but I notice she doesn't seem to mention where it's from until someone asks.
BUT I will add if you make something from another site and (we all do) then we post it in projects everyone asks where is the design from as we do and you have just advertised another site.
So I guess it's not really for us to judge. Maybe best to just to leave no comment on them if you don't like and they will go away.

When I'm posting a project I always write where I get the designs. Here in Germany you have to do this (where you get it and the designer if you know who it is). I think it is also much more comfortable for other cuties (and me :o) if you don't need to write a PM cause of a design you see in the projects and you like it ;-)

Karen I snuck (hehee)over there and they do have nice things, but I was under the understanding if you advertise, they need to go to Bookmarks. Not sure how it can be controlled either. Unless we bombard them with negative feed back on their post...(do not advertise here)...It's one of the reasons I like it here, no ads except what Veronika allows.

I don't understand why someone would give them a flower. It seems to me that it would just encourage them even more to keep posting. I won't even go look at what they have. Yes, rules should be abide by, but they are many that break the rules and get away with it. Ok, I said enuf. *4U all. Carol

I think they got that flower cause they logged on, I think we get one per day just for visiting this site.

I'm afraid I am guilty of this myself. I wasn't aware of the "No Advertising" rule until another cutie very kindly told me it wasn't allowed. I really appreciated her friendly way of letting me know instead of being rude about it. I quit immediately and thanked her for making me aware of this. This place is so huge and I didn't read the advertising policy which was my own stupidity.
I'm sure some of these folks are aware of the rule but maybe their are some that are not, specially if they are new here.
I was so impressed with the kind gentle way this cutie informed me, I knew that this place must have a lot of folks with big hearts and I'll forever be grateful to her for not "yelling" at me, which I did deserve for breaking the rule.

I love looking through the projects area
and being able to share ideas with my friends
I really appreicate cutie friends saying where they got the design from..
I do appreciate that may result in free advertising
but also it's nice to hear and see when somebody is very pleased with a design.. digitisers do work extremely hard its nice for to receive some praise
Big hugs from London
