but how do I attach it to the cloth so I don't have any raw edges on the cloth? I really should finish this as so much time and thread goes into them.

These are just edges, they need something in the center.

I have done a couple lace projects that were attached to fabric - not my choice to work with much - however - I used the same technique to attach as I did to stitch them together - a satin stitch - I then applied Fray Check and cut away the extra fabric, if any.

Good Idea with the fray check, I just want to make sure I do it right without strings or raw edges showing.

Depending on the type of doily and how it is going to be used I have seen some with fabric backs. As With anything it is your preference.

I already have all the pieces made. They still have the wash-away on them from a couple of years ago. I know how to put the FSL sections together, I made a FSL basket and that looks nice. I just need to know how to attach the FSL to the fabric center and make it looked finished without raw edges. Some of the others have posted beautiful ones in the projects, I'm hoping some of them will share how they attach the FSL to the main material.

I have never used cloth, just the FSL alone. Sorry I can't help you, but thanks for asking the question, now we both can learn how!

Well, you have to add something or there is a big whole in the center, did you see how it was done in the post that bevintex posted? She posted a great site on how to do this.
