I just finished making this card for my very best friend, Carol, who will be 65 tomorrow! I'll post the design at DNC once I've ironed out all the glitches I found as I was sewing it out - I'm pleased with the final result but the process was interesting to say the least! :-) Love from Dianne x x

This is so pretty I am sure your friend will just love it especially since it is hand made instead of store bought.

Well, I've just got back from giving my friend her card and yes, she was absolutely thrilled with it (I've known her long enough to know that her pleasure was genuine!) It's lovely to know that it's appreciated - and your kind comments are appreciated too! Flowers for everyone! Dianne x x x

I would love to know how you made the beautiful card? Is there paper behind it?

Dianne, this is lovely, is all this done on fabric?
Do you frame it or how do you present it?

Re. the questions as to how I made it : it's all fabric - the "frame" is a floral printed fabric, appliqued on as part of the embroidered design by hooping the stabilser, fabric to be embroidered (in this case white felt) AND the applique fabric together, allowing a good 2 inches of the patterned fabric outside of the hoop. The first line of stitching is the rectangle, and after that was stitched I cut out the inside of the fabric (NOT the felt and stabiliser) to leave the frame. The rest of the design satin-stitches over the cut edges then embroiders the rest - the text was added with my machine's software. There are 24 colour changes so two files to combine and LOTS of jumps to trim! I measured the design plus a border equal on all sides then cut a piece of stiff card that size and folded the edges of the fabric under and mounted it as a greetings card. (Hope that makes sense!)
