Remember Laverne and Shirley? Well , last week end I went to my "50th" high school reunion and I put this "K" on my jacket for a hint of who I was. Embroidered name tag. The jacket was purchased from Stein Mart and already a busy design of embroidery all over. Only us embroiders appreciate this!!!! I added the K for fun. Hard to see, white on white. Hope you like it. Kay

It looks great Kay. Everytime I add a monogram to something that I'm going to wear I think of Laverne and Shirley.

we were there. I had sweaters, blouses, and even pj's with my monogram on them. I loved them.

Oh Gerry, I meet my long lost fellow cheer leader who married a draft dodger she meet in the Peace Corps and ran off to Canada. I did not have a chance to pick her brain , but what a story it would have been. Mine was in E. Tn. I know are in Knoxville, Every time you see the name Stokely associated with UT, that is my town Newport, Kay

I do not think anyone would have to be reminded of you were! It did turn out just like you described! It does look very similar to the big L for Laverne! I have been homesick since you told me you were going to Tn. I miss it sooo much. Everyday that goes by, I regret not buying the house in Wears Valley!! Tn. became my "home" by choice over the many yrs. that we spent so much time there. I have been all over the USA and I have never been anywhere that I loved as much as "the mountains"! You went home and I was the one that got homesick!

Oh, Linda, I have not lived in Tennessee since the 1960's, but every time I start across the Great Smokey Mountains, I feel excited and I am coming home.

Thanks for bringing back memories. I spent hours doing my inital by hand on all my sweaters and blouses. Thank goodness for machines now.

If I had known how to hand monogram, I probably would have had my monogram on everything I owned. I do remember hand sewing all the name labels in all my clothes before I went to college. No one told me that if clothes were stolen from the laundry rooms, they didn't care if it had a label or not. Kay

Thank you for letting me share my jacket with you and I enjoyed all your comments and flowers to all. We must keep the monogram thing alive for the sake of embroidery. Kay
