Those look so good!! I worked a short time at a local blueberry farm. It was one of the most interesting jobs I've ever had. I worked in the office, but it was so neat to see the plants, pickers, processing and the perk was blueberries at the end of season. I have one package left in the freezer. This farm is only about three miles from where I live and I never knew it was there until I applied for the job.

Just adding I now think of all the work that goes in to getting those little plastic boxes of berries we buy at the grocery store.

That's a lot of berries! I love blue berries. Yesterday I picked blackberries and made jam, but it was only 1 small pail. 29!! you have been busy!!

These wee guys grow close to the ground there much harder to pick then the large tame ones & you also need to walk through much bush to find them,some people are afraid of the wild animals here but my son (a policeman)gave me mace to spray on anything thats gets to close ,all i ever see are bears & foxs they never bother you I just toot my car horn & they runHA!HA!Carolyn

They are yummy wild ones like these are a lot harder to pick then the large tame ones but i love outside & also going out there with friends!!!Carolyn

I pick to sale !!I get $30. dollars a pail !!I myself use about 5 pails a year i make jam,pie,& the best muffins(i won first prize @ the fair)These wild guys are LOW to the ground for picking!!!Carolyn

MY friend and I used to go out and find stuff to make jelly out of we were picking some elderberries on the ditch bank one time and the lady in the house down the road called the police on us said we were casing her house.Police came out and talked to us we told him we were just picking wild elder berrys.he said ok be careful.

How long will your fingers have blue color? We have a walnuttree in the garden and I always try not to forgett the gloves; my fingers are dark brown for nearly a week after harvest ;o)

WOW, that is alot of blueberries dear Carolyn, it sure would make a bunch of blueberry pie - wouldn't it? I am assuming after all that work - that there is more of a reason than a pie for all of these? Great job.

Wild blueberry picking is a lot of work! I used to live in the Timmins area and picked there. There's nothing like the taste of wild blueberries :)

Been to Kirkland Lake many times. I know where the turn off to Matachewan is too :) I love the north and really miss it.
Ok it's 30 minutes from highway 11 into the bush .Matachewan is on a dead end ,theres nothing but bush!!!Maybe we could meet sometime??Carolyn

That truly is a lot of blueberries - what are you going to do with them? My granddaughters picked blueberries this year - They both love them, and since we have to pay $5 a package for them here they got there fill of them for $1.50 LB. The fields were just down the street for them, and they could walk. This is about the only fruit that I have never acquired a taste for. But, hubby loves them, and we get them for him.

THERE'S the Blueberries. You lucky thing.. YUMMmmmm Never seen so many. I love in Brisbane Qld Australia and I think the only place cold enough maybe Stanthorpe or down Tasmania .. LUCKY YOU Can you put a couple of pies in "cyber-space" for us Cuties who don't have such things. OHH I forgot .. we have "mangoes, pawpaws. Citrus " so I gues it evens out Still like a Blueberry pie though hehehe
