patriotic, cross stitch, babies and children. You get the picture I am sure. Sites that I belong to like Cute and digitizers that I have lots of design sets have their own foldesr with their alphabets tucked into a subfolder. I am very organized, but can always do better with certain areas. Free flowers will be my next area to get under control. I have way over a thousand of them with no organization at this time.

I have been doing the same thing today!! Also trying to reduce the number of designs in 'misc.' - just means finding a home for them in other folders. Spend far longer trying to find interesting freebies than I do sewing these days.

Well I put my alphabets in there own files with flowers 1 daisy , flowers 2 Lilly, flowers 3 roses and so on.And if more than 1 alpha, with daisy it is then flowers 1a daisy, next flowers daisy 1b and so on.
So all the files will be alphabetical order.
(That is if I know what kind they are)

I do the same Yvonne and I add the name of the site where they came from to the filename too.

I do the same but add one more folder which I call "1" so it would be on top. In it I put one sample of the font and name it the folder it is in. It helps me. I agree sometimes I spend more time organizing than stitching.

I categorize my alphabets by size...1" or less, 2" or less etc. I did this because, when looking for an alphabet, you are usually looking for a specific size. I also have categories like Applique, cross stitch etc for alphas.
