My computer fried! Only 3 yrs. old! I've lost everything, My address book, all my downloads, all embroidery files, don't know how I'll ever get it all back! Got my new one from Dell today and still in the process of setting it up. Of course, I had to come here first to see what I've missed out on for the past few days! I've upgraded to Windows 7, it's got to be better than Vista. Hated Vista! Wish me luck in getting it going!

I do wish you happy hours on your new computer!
I make backups frequently.
I'm lucky because my son is an IT. Would miss him if he left home (only 19 yrs) so hope he stays for many yrs more.
Best Wishes
From Bev

Sorry you lost all your files. Now you have an excuse to be on Cute longer. We all spend to much time here, but isn't it fun? Enjoy your new computer. Judy *4U

Honeychyle, I did miss seeing you around. I'm sorry that you lost so much. My DH is Computer Tech so I'm sorta safe, I just have to remind him sometimes. (Kinda like a Dentist who takes care of his patients, but not his own family when it comes to teeth.)LOL...You probably won't be able to recover most of your designs, but there are a lot here on freebie, and I know that if you have bought designs elsewhere, most of them keep them in your account so you might be able to recover them also. Just will take time. Glad you are back. Terre

Hope all works out and quickly for you. Did you take the old computer in to a computer shop to see if the files could be salvaged? Our computer crashed and burned last year, but the tech was able to retrieve all of our files.

You poor thing, I always worry that mine will die and I will lose everything I have saved. I did back up my photos and embroidery designs on a memory stick just a couple of weeks ago and plan to have them burned to a CD next time I go to my son's house since my computer's CD drive doesn't burn anymore. Good luck!

I saw something on QVC or HSN just this morning that was new that would back-up everything on your computer and it was less than #200.00. It might have been on easy pay also. I was channel surfing before I decided to get up and get going. I try to back up everything in my craft on CD's. I do not have everything done yet but working on it a little at the time. The thing I saw this morning was something new they were talking about but did not listen to very much of the presentation. I knew I had to get up, walk the dogs, and carry the trash around to the road in the front of the house. They only pick it up once a week. It stormed here in the wee hours of the morning and this tiny creature that my grand-daughter brought over here to me because her Mom would not let it in her house(she and her 2 boys just moved in with my son and his wife(her mom), was crying and wanting to get in the bed with me. Did not happen! I am trying to retrain her(6yrs old) and is not housebroken. She is sweet and very smart but VERY hard-headed. She would have been easy to train as a baby but they had so many problems even way back then that no one cared. Kiwi has me wide awake at 4 AM cryng this morning. When it thundered, she went nuts! My TV is in the bedroom and I only watch it after about 11:00 at night when I usually try to go to bed. Sometimes I do not make it until very much later.I have never been a sleeper but since my surgery 6 yrs ago, my legs will start cramping as soon as I lay down. I consider going to bed as a punishment. I am always up and down all night. This item that was new this morning plugged into your computer and it stored every single item that is on your computer and all you had to do was hook it up to another computer and it would put the contents on another computer or just store until you needed (if ever) to get to the info stored. At least that is the part I heard just surfing the channels.
