This year we became increasingly fond of "bobbin lace" type of FSL and we did several designs in this style. (One big advantage is that not a lot of thread is needed.) Here I wanted to show one of the designs in more detail.

Thanks. We know that "real" boobin lace looks different (-in particular the "spreaded-out" threads from one pin to the other-) but we like the style nevertheless. And it is faster ;-)
But at least one of us (-you guess if it is Miroslava or Bernhard ;-) -) is also eager to do learn/do real bobbin-lace and has done so (a bit) already. Very time consuming. :c)

As some asked on how bobbin-lace is done:
From a stitching-out point of few: Exactly as the other laces. We used two sheets of water soluble fabric, stitch it out, rinse the fabric away (not for too long, as the remains act as starch), dry & iron it. Done.
We use rather thin (no-name) thread. If the thread is too thick, maybe a very slight scaling of the design might help. Stitching slowly is a must, too.
From the digitizing point of view:
All tedious hand-digitizing. Basically "drawing" with single-stitch/stem-stitch/satin-stitch lines and carefully thinking of how to best "navigate" through the whole thing, avoiding jumps & double-runs. Usually, after the design is made, we stitch it out and need one or two re-iterations of optimizing the design (re-editing some crossing-points which are too tense, etc.) before it is finished. We use the V4 version of Bernina Professional Designer. Would love to have a new version, but the price is WAY out of our hobby-budget.
