What kind of Embroidery machine do you have, airyfairy? You might have some inbuilt lettering which you could use. On my Janome 300E there are a few alphas included. There are also lots of sites offering free alphas and quite a few on Designs By Cuties on here if you browse through the pages.

there are some beautiful ones here on cute and some free ones on designs by cuties
