I always save scrap ribbons of all sorts and Gracie wanted to use them some way so I showed her how to zig-zag them on top of fabric to give it some texture and dimension. So she sewed this one herself and I completed the edges. I know this has nothing to do with embroidery, but just wanted to share.

She keeps me busy. Very creative young thing. I remember being that way with my grandmother as well.

Carolyn, Gracie is 10 and love to be creative. I can't hardly keep up with her. Today we made a poncho, purse, hair bow, vest, she designed a bag and this. Whew. It wore me out.

That is excellent teaching. Just don't let those small fingers get under the needle. I admire anyone who takes the time to have fun with their grandchild & teach at the same time *

Yes, she actually has been using my small machine since she was about 7. It doesn't matter how often she visits, she has to create something. I think it is the environment. My daughter Jess is very creative, but just doesn't have time with 3 others, plus teaching Irish dance...

I don't have grandchildren yet, but I look forward to days like you had with your granddaughter. You are blessed. I'm so glad that you two can share your talents.

Thank you Reva, she loves being creative and enjoys spending time with her "noni" because she knows I will let her be creative and there isn't competition with others. LOL
