I did not have an opportunity to post on your earlier post about Ricks fall. My apologies.
I am a little confused, from reading your post about his fall. You said,
"I hope he didn't really injure himself - when you fall - you sometimes don't notice the little things that make it hard to walk or move around the next day."
I am shocked that the paramedics did not take this into consideration! This is most certainly negligence on their part.
I think maybe you should contact an attorney about this negligence.
In regards to high medical bills, join the club.
Unfortunately we do not live in a country that has Universal Health Care coverage.
BUT we do live in a country that there are many channels to find assistance.
If worse comes to worse, you will have to file bankruptcy to eliminate your medical debt.
IF you are already receiving any type of federal or state aid (food stamps, homestead tax credit, medicaid)
no one can garnish your wages while you are receiving any of these services.

If you are not receiving any of these services, why not?

You need to apply... yesterday!

In a 2 person residency with no income, you definitely qualify.

Please remember...
"God helps those who help themselves".
As an example, if you asked me to help you plant a garden, but then just watched me as I planted the garden for you, I was not actually helping you.
I would be doing the work for you.
Many Christians fall into the trap of inactivity.
Many Christians ask God for help, but then expect God to do everything Himself.
They excuse this by pointing to the fact that God will provide according to His will and in His timing. If you are in need of assistance, ask the Lord to help you find assistance - but then be active in actually looking for the assistance.
While it is in His power to do so, it is highly unlikely that God will cause any assistance to come looking for you.
My prayers are with Rick and with you.

Thank you each - the doctor took blood - reviewed many things - gave Rick a prescription and ordered some tests - Rick is resting and we will see what tomorrow brings - we have several appointments setup and the testing is part of them. I will keep you posted and we each appreciate your kind prayers - I believe in the power of prayer and I know that God is guiding us through the whole process.

Oh dear Shirlene, You and Rick are on my prayer list. I know you have faith in God, so we have to trust in Him. Glad that Rick has managed to get some rest, you must also rest when he does. You need to look after yourself as well.

Please try not to worry too much as it may be something as simple as hemorrhoides and may only require topical medication and a change of diet.

Hi Shirlene, so sorry to hear this news, my thoughts are with you and Rick:)

Thank you to each of you - we got the testing done and another application in the process - we will just wait and see - what the report says - I got Rick's presctiption filled and he is doing better but not yet his best. We will take this one day at a time - thanks so much for your prayers and emotional support - we couldn't ask for a better CUTE family.

Prayers for you and Rick!
Sometimes things just seem too much,but somehow we seem to get through.We went through similar circumstances when we retired...11 mos. later my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer. We had just moved to a new community and did not know a soul. It is a long story with a good ending. They took his right lung and 17 yrs. later he is doing just fine.
The Good Lord takes care of us in His way for His reasons.

Shirlene, you and Rick are both in my prayers. I just wonder if Rick has been on any "blood thinning" medication since his stroke. this would be anything like asprin warfrin heparin. The dose of these drugs being to high could be causing bleeding. I have just realized that this post is from 2 weeks ago but it is something to be aware of.
