We enjoyed the week at the lake house with my son, his fiancée (now wife), and her parents who had come to visit from Germany. Other friends of the wedding couple visited sporadically, and stayed before and after the ceremony. Our daughter and son drove up to Virginia from South Carolina, but could only stay for the wedding, due to William's school schedule. William was a charming little ring bearer, who accomplished his job in style. He looked very handsome, also. Our week was exhausting as the house had three stories and many trips, up and down, were made. We boated, knee boarded, went tubing, fished and sunbathed during the week, as the rental home was located on a large lake. I'll be receiving more photos later and will post more.

We spent much of the week decorating, and cooking; the bride and her mother made lots of delicious German foods, while my contributions were all American. The bride's father spoke some English, so we communicated with assistance of the bride, acting as a translator. I actually dreamed that I could speak and understand German, Polish (all three bridesmaids are Polish) and Portuguese (my son and two friends speak Portuguese), but I awoke with only a small knowledge of those languages. Friends of my son flew in from California, Texas, New York and Brazil. Most others drove to join us at the lake house. It was a truly splendid week!
I missed 'talking' to all of you Cuties, but found an internet site, and occasionally, quickly downloaded a few alphabet letters.
Many thanks to Shirlene, who was commissioned to make pink FSL angels for the bridesmaids, lovely wedding couples in FSL for the grandparents who could not join us, and gold and white FSL angels for other family members. Sewdoctor digitized some lovely designs for us, and others volunteered to translate from German to English. I embroidered aprons for the family, which Nancy and I ventured to a supplier outside of Richmond, to buy. They were fine to embroider on, but did shrink and were difficult to iron. The hankies for the ladies were great, as were the table favors and Chris helped me with construction instructions. And when my machine had a glitch, both Nancy and Shirlene offered to help me out. I give thanks to all of you for your offers of help, your suggestions, the digitizing, the instructions and your words of encouragement. You are all wonderful friends.

Dear Jacqui,

I've been waiting and waiting to see these - I'm so glad everything went so well. What a glorious place to have a wedding.

So glad all the "goodies" went over well. Isn't it amazing that all the Cuties from around the world were there in some way or other.

Looking forward to seeing some more pictures. Now at least you can rest a while. Sending you a big bunch of beautiful red roses.

Love and blessings Chris

Nancy, I'm sure you're thinking forward towards your son's wedding, and anticipating the fun and excitement. Our son's friend (from Brazil) will return to Sao Paulo soon, so they are coming here for dinner soon. I'm trying to work up the menu now. Wish me luck. Thank you so much for your offers to help. It really was appreciated.

Jacqueline, so happy you had such a great wedding - I have been waiting to hear how everything went - I am pleased to hear that it was so much fun - I am sure you may need a few days rest - from all the running up and down the stairs. What a lovely setting you all had, too.

I was thrilled when you ordered things from me and I am glad that you and the family and bridesmaids enjoyed them. It is always fun to be part of a great event.

Your contribution was amazing and everyone was tickled to have your beautiful ornaments! William chose one of the gold and white angels, and I'll give he and his Mommy more of them to hang at Christmastime. Again, thank you!
