Alma - I have seen Organ needles advertised for sale, but I have not seen them in person so I don't really know how they differ from the needles I buy locally. Are they only meant for professional machines? Or can they also be used with home sewing machines? Thanks.
I've noticed that Janome needles are organ-at least they use to be
laffma1, have a look at the website and see what they say about the Organ needles. It appears they are now on a par with Schmetz quality-wise. I use Organ needles all the time for normal sewing and for machine embroidery - sharps, not universal - and I'm getting good mileage and excellent stitching from them.
Professional/commercial machines need different needles from home sewing machines, as in, I believe, round shanks compared with flat-sided shanks for home machines.
My Babylock Eclipse XL serger was set up with Organ needles size 75/11 in the factory and the manual suggests for heavier fabrics to use 90/14 and states that the semi-ballpoint Universal needles are suitable for woven and stretch fabrics.
I buy the Organ needles by 10 packs at a time in little packs of 10 needles, sometimes 50 sharps and 50 ballpoints.
Having said all that, I still use my dwindling and expensive supply of denim, topstitching and embroidery Schmetz needles for some special sewing.
However, nearly $6 for 5 Schmetz needles as compared with $10.25 for 100 Organ needles gives me little choice since I, too, have to be careful with the money, and even with currency exchange and postage I'm still coming out on top buying from Allstitch.com.
I've also found them very quick to help and post what I need.

Thank you for your help .I will email them because this needle is for an overlocker &I couldn't find it listed on the site . I was told by the dealer to use this type only ,as far s I can see they are the same length but they maybe thicker.I'm just trying to save money,even with currency conversion & postage the last lot of needles I bought, which I use on Hus diamond worked out at 25c each against nearly $1 each.So you can understand why I'm looking to buy them in USA than at home
