I have many times told myself I have more than I will ever be able to use in my lifetime. BUT there is always that one I passed by and low and behold a few weeks or months later something comes up and I think "oh gosh that one would've been perfect!" So I pretty much have not reached my limits. I have however learned to bookmark sites like Henry's, 1xiuhua, Bunnycup and Dainty instead of grabbing everything they have.

Yes, at least I think so. I only download what I can use for dish towels, sheets, towels, pillowcases.I do have a few baby (4 bibs) I stay away from the really freaky looking stuff or most alphabets. My favorites are borders, scrolls, Pooh, Peter Rabbit.

Nope, we will never have enough designs for there is always something different we are always looking for. I have so many i will never use them all but fun to collect. My husband doesn't mind a bit. Whatever keeps me happy. Always nice to have a design and make something for someone just to bless them. That's something they can't buy in a store and i call it priceless. we will always collect designs and thanks to all the people who digitize them for us to buy or get free to enjoy. Roberta

Too many to my liking and not enough for that special project. So then it's DIY for me. And once I start with that I think of umpteen variations and don't get the project done. hee hee

I am so amused by your answers...I look at the flowers and you can tell who has been around here for a while....I have only been here since July and every day I tell myself that I have enough and try to stop this maddness and everyday...yes everyday...
even while visiting in Virginia USA with our son....I am still sitting and dl designs ....
but I am like 'psssst' I don't dl everything, just bookmark for later maybe.....this is worse than quilting and buying fabric....after all this is free...FREE......but what is the cure?????

No cure....this is a fatal existance, bad for me though as I also quilt and have a huge stash of fabrics in fact I'll be off to the fabric stores tomorrow looking for that perfect print.lHave a blessed day.
by quilter124 22 Sep 2010
I am a quilt teacher, designer, fabric collector from many years ago....I could open my own fabric shop and not buy one bolt of fabric.....yea...I know and understand.....
by sewdoctor 22 Sep 2010
Yes, me too, I teach sewing to adult women...I worked in fabric stores for many years, was there when the bolts came in. I got some of everything that caught my eye..I probably have 10,000 yds of fabric in my home,,,,true story!

Collecting designs IS a cure! Cuties every day- that ought to help maintain a bit of sanity! lol

My sweetie thinks I am nuts when I say I need to get my daily letters. He doesn't realize I also buy designs. I think he thinks they are all free and I don't tell him any difference. What he doesn't know won't hurt him. He He!!!!!

Yep I think we are all "been there, done that"... I have learned however, if it doesn't appeal to me then I move on or if I have something similar or it looks familiar then I don't d/l... I'm STILL cleaning out my folders. I finally have one that I can direct the design to the right folder. Before I had just a d/l file and then I would have to unzip and send it to the proper folder. Now at least two steps have been elimanated. I think. LOL Terre

Of course not...there is always another design that screams take me cause I'm so cute or pretty. I'm sure I have more designs than I'll ever use but just keep adding to the stash....Have decided to just enjoy them all, hope you do the same.

Nope, there is no cure because there is always a "cuter" design out there just waiting to be found. At least we don't have to go to the doctor for this malady. Ha Ha, Carol

While a have a huge amount of designs, I'm getting a little better at not downloading all freebies, but I need to download less....my problem is I like too many designs....I'm still trying to organize my designs and I seem to stay behind....I'm determined to download less.....time will tell!!!

Machine embroiders have the pleasure of having many addictions to fill our time when we are not embroidering, we are collecting freebies and those "oooh that is so cute design" and then of course fabric and things to put it one and yet another chating until all hurs of the morning(chat messenging that is)and then we start it all over again the next day!! See Variety is the spice of life!!!!!!!!!!!!

TooMany??Are U Serious!!! What about the designs that do not get d/l? Poor things;must feel left out... When H aks when I will stop, my answer is I'm building a Library! Hard to argue against that; serious work-heeeheeeeheee....Of course, I won't say how LARGE my library is; think big is my new motto!* for all fellow collectors...

I'm not qualified to say....I've only been collecting for 18 months .... couldn't possibly find 'enough' in that time. :}
I am beginning to get a little bit picky, though, and it's really interesting watching the development of the digitising. My addiction gets me out of bed every morning to 'do a bit of research' and fill my mind with beautiful and interesting images.
Besides, it's futile trying to stop while Veronika continues producing designs like her cross-stitch, her AED, AA and CA designs, let alone all the other dozens of digitisers and their welcoming websites.

Gasp!!! life without Vermillion and Ellen Mohrer-Stroh!!! or BFC!!! or BargainEmbroidery!!!!....

Can't even remember life before FSL.......

And I'm telling you now.... if you don't collect that design you're mulling over..... you'll be sorry!!!!

She who dies with the most designs wins.

So many designs, so little time.

WELL. It seems whenever I want a specific type of design for a specific project, I just never seem to have one good enough so I always end up changing a design to make it more suitable. So I guess, even when you're a digitiser, the answer is still, no. LOLOLOL!!!

Appears enough is never enough. I keep saying I won't buy anymore site memberships (and all of the wonderful designs that come with it) or taking advantage of any really good sales, etc. yet, in the end, I do it anyway. I have had a machine since January, started collecting in February, and have more designs than I will use in many lifetimes - but that is not stopping me from collecting more every day!

I haven't been doing embroidery or collecting very long, but I have a LOT and it is certainly not enough. I don't think I will ever have enough as there always seems to be something really cute that I need to have that I don't have one quite like it! I figure could be a worse habit, so go for it. It's getting to be as bad as my materiel stash that I have - everyone teases me that I could set up my own fabric shop.
