of these machines end up on Ebay to be sold. I would prefer to buy from him as I know he only sells quality machines and provides an excellent service. I am getting a little fed up of waiting and have seen a machine on Ebay 2 hours away and it has not been used much. So what advice do you give me, what should I be looking out for or am I quite mad thinking of buying like this? I have decided to get second hand, a pre loved machine as I dont have loads of sewing time and it seems a lot of money to buy a new machine that is under used. Thanks to all for their answers

Is there a large price difference between this machine and new? With new there is the warranty and used on ebay usually means as is. If you are only 2 hours away you could have the opportunity to test it out and ask lots of questions. Also ask about maintainence records. Good Luck!

The cost of new is almost £6,000 at £5,780 or there abouts or $9398.93 and second hand is about half. I know there is no warranty on ebay. I have a strange feeling the machine came from my dealer originally or the other dealer I have my name on their waiting list. Thanks for replying

I had a bad experience with e-bay I will never buy another thing from e-bay. Try a new machine you will feel better

I wonder if the dealer would go with you to check out the machine. It coswts nothing to ask and he might give you tips of what to look for.

Not sure if Craig's list would have this type of item from an individual or not. Craig's list has it's own pitfalls, but might be worth checking.

Well I never knew that Craigs list operated in the UK but on checking there is very little and no machines:(

I would travel the two hours ! may have a hard time finding one because If they are like me , I would ride that dog ttil it fell apart ! They would have to pry it from my cold dead hands ; ) !

I purchased my machine on ebay after much research on the type of machine I wanted....new, the machine was priced at 5000. and I got barely used machine for 1800. which included shipping....I was one of the lucky ones...with big wants but not much money...and I'm not sorry....good luck...it's a tough call

Thanks to all who have given me some good advice. I have just had a long chat with the great guys who are the dealers I use. As usual they have given great advice and we have sussed out the places that the 600 could be serviced. I had not realised that the dealer I use is the only one in a HUGE area who has trained at Brother to service the machines. The mention of one shop bought very loud noises from the background which made me laugh. Somehow I think I will be getting a new machine with all the great back up that comes with it from the shop

Hi there I am in the same position as you,, my dealer has been keeping his eye out for me for over a year, I have been watching them on ebay to get a good idea on the prices ect.. we just dont seem to get as many here in the UK.
My dealer phoned me the other day to say that the new PR1000 has been released so maybe some people will up grade to that one and part ex there pr600.. I hope so to lol..
so im am keeping patient and waiting..
