wish I knew what my misson is here, so I can get busy. The only reason I have found is for the local shop that opened a few months ago. I am doing my best to help, but not succeeding. Maybe, I need to be more patient. Terre, It would be delightful to make a detour to see you. My husband, (an Air Force chaplain) deploys next year so let's keep that in mind. Shirlene, you are one of the lights in my life. I wish we lived nearer so I could help you out in any way I could. I am so grateful for Cute. All of you over the past year have made me laugh, cry and feel connected in spite of my lonliness. I have tried so many ways to connect with people here that there is nothing left to try. All I can do is to be patient, continue to try, realize that they are cordial, but not open, physical people. It is not their culture. So I am at fault for trying to put them into a box that does not fit. I will be OK now. I have learned a lot. And that includes what I have done right. I have tried to be friendly and will continue to do that. I have tried to support the shop and will contiue. I will make more frequent phone calls to friends and family and I will continue to spend happy hours with my Cute friends. When I get desperate for smiles and hugs, I will fly home to Florida to see friends or to Rhode Island to see family and friends. I certainly will not let myself get so depressed again. So my emphysis now is on helping my husband through this difficult assignment and to improve my own skills and to share my limited knowledge and abilities. I have the tools I need to make the best of a difficult situation.

You are indeed there because God wants you there and He does have a plan for you. The hard part is waiting to see what it is. In the meantime, continue to treat everyone there as you have been and reflect God's light to them. I know how you feel because even though I knew I was where I was supposed to be when we moved 350 miles from home, it took me over two years and a lot of depression to adjust. And I was still in the same state! God bless you and keep you in this difficult time.

Sounds like you're on your way back from your depression, so happy for you. Just keep putting yourself out there and eventually someone will come along that is looking for a friend too, wish come "Cuties" lived near you as then you'd have no problems at all. Will be praying for you, Good Luck in all you do. Have a blessed day.

Glad to hear you are feeling better about things. Maybe it is God's plan for your husband to be there and you are just along for the ride right now. Just continue to be you and don't try to change to fit yourself into that box. Remember that no matter how hard things seem today, they will be different tomorrow. Each day we wake with a new project, sometimes to help us, sometimes to help others.

Hey cutie I am from Rhose Island too!! Where abouts do you come from? Kept the chin up! All good things come to those who wait. Things will work the way they are suppose to. God always laughs at people who make plans because he is the one that makes the plans. Love to hear from you! Suzanne

Karen, glad you made it in. It looks like you have a new outlook on life. :) Suzanne quoted from Proverbs 16 and here is another: Kind words are like honey - sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. You continue to be there for those around you. Now that you have told me what your husband is/does, I must confess and ask forgiveness. I was one of those military wives who didn't associate with the pastors wife either. Why? We as humans sometimes put them on a pedestal and think they wouldn't want to associate with us. I know looking back now that iy was selfish on my part. We forget sometimes that pastors and their wives are human just like us. So forgive me for being one of those ppl that wouldn't befriend several chaplin's wives. Just pray for those around you and be there for them. Even if they don't come around, God has put you there for a reason. I know this might now sound encouraging, but read Prov. 16. There are several verses that will help you. God had Solomon to write it for a reason...In times like these.:o) Hugs Terre

Yeahh!
To use what you have been offered is the secret - religion itself isn't able to be alive - relationship lives from the giving and taking
thanks for posting this - a true wisdom

Karen, so glad that you made it home safely and to be with your handsome hubby is the best thing in the world - I don't know if you know this - but there is an Air Force Base very close to us? Hill Air Force Base, I grew up in Layton, which is at the south end of the base - most of the people around here work at HAFB - it would have been wonderful to have you that close to us, too. I know you are struggling - but you are in the right place - you just be you - things will open up - I am sure of that - I seem to always want to know why God has us do this or that - but in reality - it is up to us to understand why - just to do it - He has so many reason's for the things that we are going through - in the end - you will look back and wonder why you were so worried about the things that you were - I speak from experience here - keep on stitching and have fun with the hours that you can do it. Open your heart - where you can. I will be praying for you dear one.

Karen I am so surprised at the reaction that you are getting in Grand Forks. When we were there I thought everyone was friendly. Not so here in PA where I live( born and raised here also). I think you have the right attitude to make the best of the situation. God will let you know the answers to your questions and time will tell the story. Hugs, Mary PS I answered your last pm and gave you my email address if you wish to contact me.

It reads as if you are taking a decision in your mind and bringing it on the way to your heart and feelings to feel comfort.
I like this way of accepting cirumstances you can't change now

God will lead you if you allow him - keep your open and friendly way of communication and you are at home there soon. At least you will recieve what you saw.
Very good to go and be active to find friend and contact - to sit and wait isn't the right way.
Great how you take the things!
invest some more time for your hubby - quality time as couple is a reciept which carries a lot of unconvenience "for free"
God bless you
