Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny,
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick....
I was just admiring my good work.

I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops - I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into it -
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse.
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess......
While I sit here on my hiney.

I love this!!! I can also relate! There are many nights that I do not hit the bed until an hour or so before time to get up. I have gotten so slow that it just takes me that long to do everything I need to do!... On the computer........

Hey, I tried to clean the other day, I was dusting shelves and pulled a muscle in my back, I figured that was the Lord's way of telling me to get back to the computer!

I have to admit I really only clean when company is coming. I never seem to get to it working full time. Maybe when I retire I'll have time to clean---NOT.

Ha!!!!!
I've been retired for three years now and I'm still waiting for the 'maybe when' thing to begin....
No... I logicised (my word for 'it's my story and I'm sticking to it') that I haven't all that many years left in me and I'm not going to waste them by doing any housework.

I try to stay with my cleaning schedule that works for me. Bathrooms every other day. Kitchen is clean and put away before bed (don't want to wake up to any critters or bugs.) Bed made within 15 minutes of getting up. Then first weekend of month all the ceiling fans and one window (screen drapes/curtains, blinds, glass) gets cleaned. Then I do vacuuming and laundry when needed. You noticed I omitted dusting - That gets left for DH since it is something I don't like to do. It is just like rearranging dust particles and I don't like to stir them up. lol When I was sick clutter made more stress for me and finding stuff took too long. Came up with after dinner to pick 5 things and put away or throw away. For the longest time I put 5 things in the trash. When you do a little bit at a time it isn't so overwhelming.

Rightly or wrongly, I've saved this poem and I'm going to print it out and frame it and hang it on the wall above my computer station where it will be a constant reminder to do my own thing .... and enjoy every minute of it.
