digitize is turning an image into an embroidery file so that it can be stitched on embroidery machine, it requires special software and depending on the image can require quite a bit of skill.

You have your answer. Without the kind people on cute who can digitize these cute designs for us we would be very limited in what we could get. The fact that they are gracious enough to just give the designs to us for fee is awesome! Cuties are the best!
