When you stitched the bookmarks did you just do one in the hoop at a time or did you do all 4 in the hoop at one time?

Our hoops don't hold the water soluble stabilizer very tight especially on the longer sides of our hoops so when we stitch FSL the Stabilizer can be pulled into the middle of the hoop and that can cause the outlines not to stich where they should over the rest of the lace design and this can cause the lace designs to fall apart.

I put Wonder Tape which is a 2 sided water soluble tape and the holey Kitchen Shelf Liner on the bottom of my inner hoop and this helps hold the water soluble stabilizer tight so it doesn't slip while I stitch FSL.

The Shelf liner can be purchased on a roll at stores like Walmart or the Dollar stores.

The Wonder Tape can be purchased at machine dealers or sewing stores usually in the Notions Department.

There are pictures on the Criswell K-Lace Design Website showing how to put the Wonder Tape and the Shelf Liner on your hoop and how it works.

Don't put the shelf liner in the corners of the hoop as they are the tightest part of the hoop. Just put it on the 2 long sides and the top and bottom ends of the inner hoop.

This really works great and holds the water soluble stabilizer tight.

I leave the Shelf Liner and Tape on all my hoops for all my embroidery.
Many of the FSL designs I do have more than 50,000 stitches and they all turn out great.

Also you may want to try 2 layers of water soluble stabilizer to see if that helps with the book marks.

I usually use the smallest hoop for the design size I want to stitch out.
