He explained that his older daughter got married several years ago and his wife gave her a hankie with her first initial on it on her wedding day, he said that his wife had since died but his older daughter suggested that the hankie was a good idea, he could not find one that he liked so he wanted me to embroider an M on a hankie. I initially quoted him $2 for the embroidery. I thought about it a lot, how hard it would be for him to arrange his daughters wedding without his dear wife. So when he dropped off the hankie I told him I would not charge him, I just asked him to tell his friends about my business (my business is not doing very well).
Today he came to collect the Hankie, he handed me an envelope with a card in it, it contained a lovely thank you card and $5 worth of scratch loto tickets. I opened it after he left and was a bit miffed that he had spent more money on the card and scratchies than the job was worth.
I sat down with a cup of tea and scratched them, I won $17 dollars on the scratchies.
Also my son who has been out of work for more than a month got a job today, and my other son who had not been paid last week got his pay check today. they both live with me and there financial situation was starting to become a bit of a burden.
But hey what a day. so many prayers answered in one day.
You did something nice for someone and you and yours all rec'd something back!
Thanks for sharing.
I was always told, you get back what you hand out.
Hugs Yvonne
I pray your business begins to grow.
