I use the embroidery thread when sewing towels i choose one the same color as the towel itself makes for a neater back. And for the little bits left on my bobbins i use for general sewing.

Oh, I like this idea!

Yes it is possible to wind your bobbin with the same embroidery thread that is on the top. The results will be the same and if on a towel the back looks almost as good as the front. I have done this for many years before they brought out a specific bobbin thread.

Thank you so much. In future I will do just that especially for towels. Can I use ordinary sewing cotton in the bobbin??

Thank you for asking this as I was told the same and didn't know I could use regular for bobbin.

Yes it is, when doing regular embroidery you need to use the bobbin thread but there are other times when you need to use color matching thread, especially on FSL. I was using white top thread when I asked about the regular for the bottom but any time you use a color on FSL you want to match that color on the bobbin also.
