I have seen several purchased pot holders that have been embroidered on. What do you do about the back? How would it look?

i used tear away behind my pot holders. I don't mind seeing the design on the back of mine.

i used the color of the pot holder. Mine are just for decoration, so they will be hanging up and not used much. When hanging , you don't see the backs anyway.

I embroider only on the top fabric.
Then I sandwich batting between the top fabric and insulbrite fabric for back. I baste around the outside edge to join them all together, then quilt squares across the whole item, avoiding the design area, then bind around the outside edge creating a loop as I go.
Finished!
