If you use the spray adhesive do you really need the double side sticky tape? I have not embroidered on ribbon but have embroidered names on webbing with no problems

I am just going by what she has done here - to secure the ribbon down - so there is no movement - this design was of leaves in a row and covered most of the ribbon area.

I have sewn on ribbon and not used the double sided tape with no problems, too. But then - I wasn't going the full width of the ribbon, either.

I pick up a basting stitch for ribbon some where and though it was to hold the ribbon down. Don't think I quite ready for embroidering on ribbon.
Thankyou for showing us this video.

Very interesting. I successfully did a design on grow grain ribbon before I knew about the spray on and the fix feature(basting). I marked the center horizonal and verticle lines on the stablizer and basted the ribbon in place on the stablizer before doing the design.

Thanks Shirlene, as Chris says it looks fiddly. I also looked at embroidering on a pair of socks

Carline, thanks - I don't know that I would ever really use this - maybe to put a name or a saying on a special ribbon - but it is nice to know how - if I decide to do it.

Now I am unsure that I would ever do socks - Hehehe!

Thanks! Boy, I wish my hoop was as easy to remove as hers! Mine I have to push back a metal piece that isn't that big and I swear I will end up breaking my hoop eventually, that or my fingernails!
