I just had this happen and it was because I didn't quite the bobbin thread put in place....it could also be because of the level wind......try another bobbin and see if it still does it....make sure you put it in the case correctly...I acciently put it backwards and it did the problem you listed...

Sounds like top tension problem. If bobbbin is in correct raise top tension to next #.

you don't need to see the whole bobbin - the screws she is speaking of on are on the side that is showing dear.

I had this happen to me. Nothing I did to the top tension helped. My dealer set the bobbin tension for me and this helped. Joyce

I see you got the answer, the bobbin may not be place correctly. try a new one also.

If you are having bobbin thread show, it's a top tension problem. You LOWER the top tension to not pull so hard on the bobbin thread.

I had the same problem and ended up calling a repair guy who was kind enough to come to my house, the problem was the tension on the bobbin, follow fannyfurkin (Alice) tutorial. You may have to dial down the upper tension a bit too, I did, I now have it set on 3 instead of 4.

This looks like a tension problem or a badly wound bobbin. I had the same sort of problem a while ago and the top of my plastic bobbin had started to come adrift. Also make sure that your bobbin is firmly in place. I hope you have had the right answers from all the Cuties. Good luck!!!!
