I pulled my right hip muscle. It wasn't my glut but actual hip, just below my waist line. It was sooo painful for 4 days, I finally decided to go to the dr. I personally thought it was my RA, but after more thought I became worried and saw the dr. After the exam, he confirmed that it was the muscle around the hip joint. So I've been on steriods and a muscle relaxant (bedtime only). The steriods are helping. Last night was the first night I was able to sleep lying down in bed. It was wonderful! I'm heading there again but getting ready to take my "drugs" hehehe...

I pray that you will have a good nights sleep, so go take that happy pill and rest. Take it easy tomorrow as well. Hope that you will mend real soon.

Glad you went on to the Dr. I know how painful this can be. It will take a little while so give yourself time to heal.

thank you Lillian. This is the first I've heard of something like this. The location was on a hill and with my two replaced knees and having to help my mother who didn't want to use her walker, I didn't realize how much stress it would put on the fat hips. hehehe...

You may need to borrow the walker. Hope you're feeling better

Thanks Shirlene. It's still feels like I'm getting lots of shots hehehe. Stings more than anything, but very uncomfortable to lay down or sit a certain way.

Thank you Janet. Mom still has good and bad days. I told her about a man who had the same surgery only his was for Parkinson, (mom has essential tremors), and this man is in worse condition than mother. I think we need to see others that are struggling more for us to see how blessed we are. ;)

I did the same thing about a week ago. My left hip. I didn't go to the doc but it has happened before and I had prednisone here already so I started taking it. It is slowly going away but I'm not up for walking much and running is out of the question. I barely make it up and down the stairs and a walker or crutch sounds very appealing at the moment. I'm ok if I sit but walking hurts. I understand completely how you feel. It does take time and being careful for it to heal. I pray yours will heal quickly. I'm rooting for ya! lol(from my chair!)

hehehe. Meri I'm sorry you are having the same trouble. I've never heard of pulling a hip muscle. It's high on the hip and just below the waist, but the good thing is that it isn't my arthritis... Walking isn't too bad as long as I don't twist a certain way. It was the sleeping I couldn't get a grip on. :) Last night was the first night I didn't take the relaxant and was able to sleep well. Heading that way right now. Have a blessed Sunday.
