It's a simple opening program, easy to use, quick and free.
One thing.....When it opens a file it creates a subfolder of that file on the desktop which needs to be deleted to keep the desktop uncluttered but that's easy.

I'm not losing any .RAR files any more.

I use 7zip, find it super easy.There are more at the bottom of the page. To learn more from previous threads of conversation, just put rar files in the search box at the right of this page, under ask the community.

See you've gotten several good answers. Now get those files opened and enjoy them.

hope you have better luck than me. All the programs seemed to take over my computer and I was unhappy with the results.

Some time ago a Cutie gave me advice to use the free program ExtractNow. It works very well, you just drag and drop the rar file into the box and it converts it into a folder. Just Google it and you will find it. Hope it helps

I use jZip which is comparable to WinZip. jZip is a free program that will handle about anything that is zipped.
