threads. Just wondering if anybody else has ordered one of these and your thoughts on it. Or if you have found one else where. I have not seen any like this anywhere. I like it because it has little compartments for each spool of thread. Maybe I can # them and keep from searching each time I need a color. Just thinking out loud I guess. have a great day everybody.

Congrats on your purchase. I have not bought their drawer chest...but it does look wonderful. I use a plastic storage drawer system that I bought at Target - and I did label the drawers by colors. I do have Metro thread though and love it. I put the number sticker on the bottom of the thread and so far so good. Enjoy your new storage chest!*

Thanks I also put the thread number label on the bottom and the wrote the # on with a fine sharpie for fear that the label would fall off and I would not be sure what color it was.

I too have all the metro colors but not a nice special cabinet for it. I have plastic drawers from JoAnns and I have them sorted by colors.

don't you just love the Metro Thread. I think they should give me a discount or put me on their payroll, since I boast about how good their thread is. LOL. I told my hubby I will need another thread cabinet to put all of the colors in cause one only holds 120. He agreed, that's just because he bought an new motorcycle and leather goods to wear with it. Gotta love when they do things like this cause you can get things on your wish list too. Or at least so far I can.

I bought the chest a few months ago, and I love it! I carefully remove the number sticker and put it on the botton of the spool of thread. I haven't labeled the thread compartments. I just try to keep the same colors together.

I did not have much luck with putting the stickers on the bottom of the spool. They would not stick very well. I tried using a fine tip sharpie and wrote the numbers on the outside edge below the thread. Now I have the thread names and numbers typed in the computer and I need some small return labels and I will print them and put in each section of the drawers and I hope this will work. I guess the old saying goes you gotta do what works best for you. Sara

Not to make one jealous, I had been wanting one ever since I ordered my firs thread from them, but couldn't get both back then. so now I just need some more room in my sewing/craft room. to spread out. But that will not happen, so I gotta store more. I will try to post a pic of the drawers sometime this weekend, maybe. Maybe post how do you store your thread on here and see how others do it.

Wow, must be nice! I just bought one of those wood stands with pegs that hold 60 spools and I don't have it filled up. I bought a box of pastel colors by ThreaDelight but really need some more dark colors, so many of the pastels are so close in color that I haven't even opened them yet. They put like 4 spools of colors that are so close to each other I don't see the need for them!

have you looked at Metro, I love their thread it works great for me and the price is fantastic. You get a lot of thread for the price and you can buy their sets. I have all their thread colors except the varigiated ones and I don't have a need for those that I know of yet anyway.

Hey Sara, That's wonderful that you're getting the storage chest to store your thread in. Is that the kind of thread you use? I have several different kinds of thread. Does it hold only that brand of thread? I really need some way of storing mine. I'm happy for you girl! P.S. When are we ever going to find time to get together?

Did get my thread chest today, waiting on me when I get home. I tried the coats and clark thread and it fits in the chest with space to spare in height and width. so I am thinking that most any would fit. As long as it is not the large spools. Now I gotta get labels mad for each compartment. Thank goodness I have them already typed and now to get some labels from Wal Mart.Hopefully we will get together soon. Catch you later.

I am happy for you. I have the 6 drawer chest from Madiera which is labeled for all the thread colors by number. I find it easy to locate threads and to put them back. Now if I could figure out how to do the same for all of my big spools, life would be even more organized.

Trying to get organized but it may take a while to do so. I have a craft show this weekend. I have painted some ornaments for the holidays and I hope to sell all of them. I only painted about 84 so far. But oh well that is another story. I will try to post some pics of those in projects later today.

I have been using Protech fishing tackle boxes from Bass Pro Shop. I use several different brands of thread and these will each hold about 32-40 spools,depending on the size. You can store according to color, brand, etc.
