Our group challenge for last month was to do a tablecloth. I was inspired by one that featured in a recent Creative Machine Embroidery & Textile Art magazine (Vol.16 No.7). Pictured is my version of the 3D Pansy tablecloth from the magazine. The 3D pansy designs are from Elsa Goussard, they were very tricky to put together. There are 3 separate embroidery files for each pansy and each layer gets stitched in place during the embroidery of the next layer - positioning is quite difficult. The embroidery designs are from Ace Points, the lace edging is from Sue Box and the pansy leaves are from Scrigbys. Ciao Claire

Thank you Hilde. Regarding ironing I just dodge the pansies and the centre and the rest is good. Cheers Claire
you can put a soft towel down on the ironing board and iron on the back side and the flowers will pop out again..

Lovely! I no longer try to do such tedious work. My age is telling on me along with everything else. I would love to know how long it took you to do all these tiny designs along with the table cloth alone. You should be proud!

Thank you. There were many, many hours of work doing the tablecloth. I don't know how exactly how many, the pansies were the most time consuming part. Cheers Claire

Thank you Shirlene, yes it did involve a lot of patience. I hand stitched the pansies onto the cloth and that took about 8 hours to do as I used embroidery thread to exactly match the colour and it kept breaking on me. I am very happy with the result though so the time was worth it. Cheers Claire
