Plastic Bags, Paper Towels, Dryer Sheets, old clothes. Then I go out and buy the proper stuffing after I see what the filled item will look like. It's a process that we just have to see it stuffed after all the work put into it.

When I used to work a desk job, I ruined a lot of panty hose. I saved them and you can cut them in pieces and use them for stuffing. Cut the panty off and cut up the legs and stuff away. You'd throw them away otherwise. Also used them to dry my onions out of the garden. Drop an onion in, tie a knot above the onion then keep going till the legs are full. Hang up so they dry. When you need an onion cut below the knot each time. Looks funny but works great. Used them to tie up the tomatoes too. Or make a sling for the squash that grew up on the fence.Necessity is the mother of invention.

grab a pillow always works

You arer so crafty - great idea. I would have used an old pillow that had been washed and saved away - just for that. They are no longer being used - so why not use the stuffing? Can't wait to view your stuffed turkey. Hehehe!

Great ideas every one of them. I have to admit that I have several bags of fibre-fil and matting piled in a corner. I use sales and coupons and store an extra bag or 2.

Thank you for the laugh this morning LOL I totally understand last year I was making ITH snowmen for everyone in my family, had the stuffing so not a problem but they didn't stand up kept falling over what to do? snow on ground so unable to just go get little pebbles, start hunting house, oh my look at those pretty glass beads in those candles LOL they worked great.

I can't lie..... i too have taken a pillow from another family member and took the stuffing out of it. But i did give them some back with the gift i made for them. I take many trips to our local Salvation Army store and anytime i see pillows i grab them just for the stuffing and sometimes the material is worth saving too.
