very thin strips and gently pressed them onto the glass, then gently pressed the butterfly body over the strip. I think it would work well on a window also. Hopefully it would deter the birds from flying into the window. The jacket was purchased, I think from The Vermont Store. I liked the multicolored embroidery. The store is on the web so try googling it. It has lots of old time products and foods also.
