Dear Ellen, We are members of a website, www.CuteEmbroidery.com. We are like a family. Our common love is machine embroidery. We help each other with different topics, but we have one who has been an angel to us all and is in dire need of help which we are unable to provide for her. Shirlene Renshaw is the person in need. Shirlene's mother was a member of this website from the beginning and gave Shirlene a love of embroidery.

This year has been very hard on Shirlene, Feburary 8th Shirlene's husband suffered a stroke. One week later her Mother, Loretta passed away. She has been a rock and helps Rick as best she can. Rick lost his job and has not fully recovered. Nov. 8th he suffered a seizure, and was hospitalized. While in hospital Rick had 6 more seizures and a mini-stroke. He was is home resting now. Shirlene is by his side knowing he has a long road of therapy ahead of him. She updates us on the site but never complains. She owns a website www.loveoflace.com where she sells lace items that she has embroidered, but business is slow. Shirlene also needs surgery but I don't know the details. We are hoping that there is something you can do to help her, since you are a generous person. We have members all over the world. All we are asking for is help for our “Friend" who we all cherish and love. We would appreciate what you can do. Thank you in Advance... The Cuties of CuteEmbroidery.

Leenova54 it sounds great except for one thing....
you need to take out the word 'was' in the sentence:
He was is home resting now.
YOU did a great job with this.....Thank you.
Now to pray that Ellen will see the need and do something to help Shirlene and Rick.

The letter sounds wonderful to me. We're praying at noon each day and at other times as well for Rick and Shirlene and that their situation will touch the heart of Ellen DeGeneres, the television celebrity.
Thanks for pursuing this avenue and moving on with faith.

Debra, you and each of the CUTE members are just so wonderful - thanks! Rick's stroke was on February 3 and his brain surgery on the 8th and my Mother passed on February 11th - his seizures & mini stroke were on November 7th. Just to get the dates correct, if you want.

Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!

I am so thankful every day that I found this website and I think you were the first one who welcomed me and you answered so many of my questions since I knew virtually nothing about embroidery before I got my machine. You have been an angel to so many people that I am honored to be a part of this plan.

This is a really daft question but would it be possible to produce this letter as an embroidered version to go through the post?

I could put it into PE design and it would make a great statement

WOW, now wouldn't that grab her attention... Excellent Idea. She might even frame it. LOL
by beatie58 12 Nov 2010
This is an excellent idea!
by leenova54 12 Nov 2010
How would this work? Do you mean on fabric and mail it to her? This was going via email.
by leenova54 12 Nov 2010
Also there are 2 minor changes that need done so the above email is ALMOST correct.
by asterixsew 12 Nov 2010
My idea was for the follow up letter
by asterixsew 12 Nov 2010
Second idea we could photo the embroidered letter and send that as an attatchement so when she opened it she would see the embroidered letter. I would offer to embroider the letter as I have done long pieces of written work before but my machine is away being looked at and I am waiting to hear about it. Ah I can borrow my friend's machine (who I call the closet Cutie). Let me know it is much more interesting than ... thought I aught to delete what I put here
by asterixsew 12 Nov 2010
Think I would put the website not a website as it could sound as if there is more than one Cute. Further down the letter you comment that Shirlene needs surgery and you use the word 'I' but many of us are signing the letter so I would suggest 'we'.
I am not offended if you dont want to alter and my apologies I did editoral and proof reading work an age ago and cannot stop... Thanks again Leenova your imput is amazing on our behalf

Thank you, I do have a few minor touch-ups to do to it so I will check that out too.
As for the embroidered letter, the email is going out on Monday so a copy of the letter might be hard to get done and I am not very good with my machine YET, lol, hope to be at some point. Maybe if she does help then we, well, someone could do that as a thank you to Ellen. I don't know, my mind is swimming from the changes going on.

I have a thought on the 1500 space issue. Why not do what we do here. Send more than one email. The second with the rest that would be cut off. Love the embroidery idea.

I don't know if Ellen's people would be willing to work with that. If we split the letter up they might just trash it and that would be taking a big chance. If you have a better idea you are welcome to make your version and poll the cuties and see what they want to do.
