The fleece fabric already had the butterfly motif and I used the font from ABC embroidery to add the initials.

Love this! Great selection of fleece fabric. I was wondering how wide you made the scarfs? I would like to make a few for nieces and nephews for CHristmas. Thanks for your advice.

I think they are about 7 in. The fabric is 60 in wide, so they are 60" x 7". Of course you can make them wider. if you make them longer you would not be able to use the remnant as they are a yard or less. You would have to buy almost 2 yards or 2 yards and cut lengthwise, which would make them cost more if the fabric is not on sale. if the kids are young, you could make them shorter. Seems as if I made them shorter when I made them for the 6yr old. Did I help or just confuse you? Kay

Fleece comes 60 wide and I cut across about 6.5 " to 7" each. U use rotary cutter and cut fringe too.

Excuse me katydid, but please put one of those out in the mail for me today, lol! I love butterflies and the scarf is beautiful! I bought thin fleece scarfs from the Dollar store and embroidered on them, guess I should post one!

Do post one, so I can see. I buy the fleece from the remnant bin at Joann's. I try to have as little money as possible tied up in them.

Kay, these turned out just great! The color is one of my favorite! I am so glad you found the material to do these with. The butterfly adds to it and makes for less work also! Once it gets cold for a few days in a row, they will sell like crazy!
