The story behind this quilt is a bit strange. One day I woke with this picture in my head and it wouldn't go away. I had to make this into a quilt. I didn't know where to begin but once I'd made the sun, the rest fell into place. I had no pattern but the picture in my head. I started folding fabric until it looked right then stitched it. That is all I did then added the sax and the notes. During this quilt I met my Maurice who is black and plays the saxaphone. He was with me for its' completion and then on his birthday I wrapped it up and gave it to him. I can't express the urgency I felt in making this one. I believe the idea came from God as He had plans. Maurice still loves that quilt and proudly shows it off whenever he can.

I hope you enjoy it.

He won't sleep under it- it's too precious to him. He treats it like it is the most valuable possession he has. lol

Meri, what a great story - the making of the quilt for your Maurice, before you met him. Charming!

Thank you! It's just so odd I would have this idea for months before I met him. It looks a bit primitive but there is emotion and love of life and gratitude in the making of this one. It's the only time I felt I had to make this quilt. Couldn't copy it if my lefe depended on it lol, Thank you for your kind words.

Meri, love the providence about this quilt. It's always good to keep records like these. I am glad Maurice thinks it's too precious to sleep under, but he can still be wrapped in its love and know it was made with such urgency.

Love and blessings Chris

Chris-thank you for your warm comments. I should have named it providence as it certainly is a fine example of it. Maurice named it. You ladies humble me with your comments. Thank you for looking at this quilt. It is the most precious of all I have made.
