While we're on the subject of needles - I mostly use 80/12 metallic for embroidery but someone gave me Schmetz Gold which are 90/14. Is this the Titanium? I have not heard about these before.

The one I use is a Klasse' titanium *80/12.

I have used the brand with success.

Yep, after a quick google search it seems that they are indeed titanium coated :) xXx

The gold are titanium - but my machine just HATES them - pitty because I understand they stay sharper longer.

The one I did try, my machine hated also but I thought it was the size too large. Didn't know anything about Titanium. Thanks to everyone here I do now.
