i put some toul ,appliqué behind a angel, and is there a good way to clean up the edges besides good eyes and sharp scirrers

I use a tool for cutting out stencils. Looks a lot like a wood burning too but doesn't get as hot. Just touch around the edges very quickly so as not to burn the lace. Would rather go around a couple of times than have to re-embroidery. I have used the wood burning toolbut it gets way to hot and burns the lace unless you are very quick. *4U

That's what I use. A get rid of the excess and then get close to the edges with the burning tool. You can move quickly and doesn't take but a few seconds per design.

I use an inexpensive soldering iron. They are about $5 at a tool supply or hardware store. The same thing at a craft store is much more expensive.
