It's a great place to share neat designs too, but it is huge and not nearly as personable. Maybe about 5% of the people who download your design bother to say thank you. But there are some great designs there. You can zip a file, so you can download a whole alphabet with just one click.

Yes, and haven't I seen you there? ;)
I'm conflicted about saying thank you there. I want to thank the designers but then the new designs get buried and they aren't on top anymore. Maybe I need to learn to search another way?

It is kind of backwards. Are you on there as sewmom? There are a few cuties and I think some have different names. I much prefer Cuties, because it is small. Except, I would like to be able to upload a zipped file especially for a whole alphabet. IT is much nicer having the image to see the design, though. Cuties is much friendlier, don't you think?
by iris2006 17 Dec 2010
I agree with that, Sewforum is a lot of work but on top of the comment there is a tab "Post reply"and I use this button to thank the people for their designs.

Someone already had the sewmom name so I am sewingmom4 over there.
Yes, I really haven't been over there that much but Cute seems homier :)

I go there maybe once every three months or so when I have the time to browse the site. It is hard to use compared to cute.

I am a sewforum member, have been for many years. Since It was one of the first sites I joined, I go by Julief instead of Sewinhuggs. It is the place that I also brought my first embroidery machine from. I love the fact that I can add a zip file there as well, it makes uploading easier. Hope to see you there sometime.

I have seen you there you have very nice designs, but it is quite alot of information to go through. I mostly lurk around there but I usually say thanks for the designs. Nice to see you here. Hugs Lisa

Absolutely. Love their site. :-) I do wish CUTE would moderate this site as Sew Forum does.

What is the difference? I don't go to sewforum, so I really don't know.
by sewfrenzie 08 Jul 2011
One thing I love about this site is I know the size of the desgin BEFORE I download it, not always with SEW Forum. Only some of the designers tell you the size or show a picture.
by airyfairy 08 Jul 2011
I also find it it great to know the size of a design before DL. Like Debra I can only use 4x4.

Yes---they seem like a great bunch of folks too. Lots of the same folks visit both, as I see the same user names on both.

Yes, and i like it, i recently had a question about sewing pattern alteration and i had two responses right away,It is a very good site, i agree with you not to many people give thanks, sometimes i include myself in this list but it is the way the site is, you have to go all the way down to thanks, perhaps if the moderator rearrange it to make it easier, we are sometime lazy LOL>

I've been at sewforum for years. I do love it and even though I belonged to the cute site for quite a while, I didn't realized the this site had this forum side of it. I'd once in awhile remember the cuties designs but as I was working full time and commuting, I just didn't have a lot of time. Since being laid off, I'm am here daily and less at sewforum. I do like both. This forum is smaller and more personable but it's hard to search for items. Sewforum search is great.

Hi, how do you search on Sewforum. I'm not so clued up so just page thru. Elizabeth
by pennifold 08 Jul 2011
Hi Elizabeth - firstly at the top of the page are 4 little headings FAQ, SEARCH, MEMBERS, USER CONTROL PANEL.

Secondly - click on SEARCH and a new page opens up. In the right hand side of the box there is an empty area under the heading SEARCH QUERY - type in what you are looking for eg. Roses just for an example.

In the third box down you will see on the left hand side "Search in Forums" and on the right hand side an area with some text in it starting with "Forum Rules" slide the arrow bar down till you get to 'FREE EMBROIDERY DESIGNS' or 'ISO' .

Right down the bottom there is a SEARCH ICON and hit on that and it will take you to another page with lots of people's comments and webpages of designs etc. Hope these instructions are helpful.

Love Chris

Yes I am, Sewforum is a lot of work but on top of the comment there is a tab "Post reply" and I use this button to thank the people for their designs. It is easy to DL alpha's in a zipp.

Yes, earlier i had recommended that people sign in and start downloading from the back and go page by page to the front. The folks who only download the designs posted in Freebies are missing thousands of designs and forget that the people posting designs are only looking for what they like and want.

I'm a member also, but just recently started going there. Still not familiar with the site. I've not posted anything but just looked around and found a few designs, but other than that I've not participate like here.

Yes I am a member there too. It's a very good site. But if I had to pick one or the other, I'd pick Cute.

I was a member there before I even knew about Cute but have never made a post of any kind until a couple of months ago when one of our X cuties who is also on Sewforum, husband passed away. It took me forever to figure out how to post a message but I wanted to let everyone there know about the passing of one of their digitizer's husband. I was going to go back and read the comments but have not been able to even get back to where I posted the message. I am also a member of Land of 1000 stitches and have never posted anything there. I go and look on occasion and faond MANY,MANY alphabets by Aquasanta who puts her designs up here also. I have not found very many designs other than those on that site that I needed. I was a member here for a very long time before I ever posted on this site.I lurked in the background and would get the daily alphabet but was not aware of any of the other designs for many months!

Yes, the people here are very friendly and helpful and this feels like a family of personal friends. Meganne, at the time was what actually got me to decide to post something on Cute. I usually go by sewforum right before I shut off the computer at night and check to see if there are any designs that have been posted and if I want to download them. I just go by the other place a couple of times a month.

By far, Cute is the place to be!!!!! That is because of all of you!

I had a similar problem with sew forum, I did reregister under a different email and then it worked fine. Must have been a glitch in the way I registered the first time. Good Luck. I do like the site as well but I am addicted to the family here at Cute. Much more personal
by hightechgrammy 08 Jul 2011
Welcome to Cuties! You do a great job managing a Huge and comprehensive site at SewForum! I just wish people were more appreciative of the hard work of digitizers. It's my only complaint :-)

I signed up a while ago. I love the site, but don't down load very many designs. Not many show the actual size and I can only do under 4x4 designs. So the first several I downloaded I was very disappointed as they where 5 x7 and when I changed the size down it was too dense or my machine would refuse them. I do love the designs that are small enough when I find them and say thank you.

I get totally lost on it, can't find designs or figure out how to get to where I was and the designs don't say how big they are (4x4 limited here) so I gave up on the site.

I was a member of SewForum for a long time, before finding the Cute site. SewForum has a wealth of info of different crafts, including machine embroidery, as well as many talented members and digitizers. I learned a lot from the years I have been a member of SewForum to assist me with machine embroidery. A great group, but so is CUTE!

SF was my first sewing forum three years ago, Cuties was my second. I love both sites but don't post/download very much. I do enjoy reading all the posts and comment when I can, there are wonderful people at both sites!
