You see these as sample gifts around the holidays) So I went to the store and bought a variety of spices we all commonly use. I put a small amount in the jars, labeled them then put them in small baskets wrapped in cello and put a new wooden spoon, tied with a piece of pretty fabric. Now about 8 older single ladies have a fresh batch of spices. You could also add a mug, or exotic tea bags.Potpourri would also be nice or soaps. All I know is they all said how much they liked the idea. Just an idea.

This is a great idea, and if we thought about the labels early we could use embroidery to identify or decorate in some way. We are a resourceful bunch are we not?

What a great idea. I was stuck for a gift for my mil who is almost 93 and has everything. I came up with embroidered facecloths and soap. She never waits for the 25th and has already phoned to say what a great gift. I will remember your idea for next year

Some spices are quite expensive and I buy at speciality Indian/health food stores where you can get the amount you need. Your neighbors are lucky to get such a nice gift.
