Yes thank you Santa for the White Christmas. I live about 45 or so miles from Lillian we got maybe 1-1 1/2 inches. but it s pretty. You have to know were not equipped for snow like people up north. When you say snow in Alabama, people run to the store and stock up on bread and milk. LOL But most people cannot drive in this weather.Glad I don't work on the weekends. Maybe it will be better by Monday. (kinda hope not) It's suppose to go down to 19 tonight so what is on the roads will most likely freeze which is not good at all for those that have to be out in it. Hope everybody had a blessed Christmas.

Looks like a kids-paradise - in summertime ;o) We tried to build a snowman but our snow is too fluffy :o)
Greetings, Bettina

Lilian, It's just as beautiful as ours too... How are your roads? I noticed that earlier they finally got the equipment out on our road. We live in a rural area, so not any traffic. It was nice to see.;)
by jkdavis1996 27 Dec 2010
Yes...we have fun and our snow was so fluffy that it was quite a task to build a small snowman. But the snowball fights were great for the youngsters.

Dear Lillian, I do love snow, and I really miss the snow in the USA, when I lived in MN. I have so many good memories of it.
We had a hot and "wet" Christmas, it has been raining everyday in Gold Coast.
Enjoy the season with its beauty, as they say.
Love and blessings,
Yoriko

Oh how pretty. When i lived in Montgomery Al many years ago, I remember we had some snow. that was back in 1960. here in PA where I live, it was cloudy and overcast all day, but our snow is on the way and we are to get up to 5 inches today.

I envy you all who can experience a white Christmas. Here is South Africa it is hot and humid with the occasional thunderstorm to lift the heat. Enjoy it.

Dear Lillian,
It's a beautiful snow! Glad you were able to see some and hope it does not 'freeze' traffic!
We're visiting in NC now, and hope to be able to drive back to VA without big traffic delays.
Thanks for sharing those beautiful photos. Merry Christmas to you!

We had that beautiful snow, too. Wasn't it magical? There is so seldom snow at Christmas here in the southern United States. It makes my insides feel like a child, now if only the outsides would follow...sign.

I gave up on the outsides long ago Jerrilyn. It is Noon on the 26th & still snowing outside & here I sit with my Temp @ 100. Looks like another trip to Dr. Gads I do hate being sick, especially at Christmas.

It is beautiful & my grands in Huntsville loved it! BUT now I'm waiting for MY kids to come home for Christmas/New Years from both Ala AND Va. And not lookiing good for the Va set! Hopefully the Ala gang can get out & to Tenn. sometime today!! There was a bluebird on my waterfall rocks this am, but flew before I got the camera!!

I worry about the blueirds gerry, they freeze in this kind of weather. I have a lot & they will gather together for warmth & huddle in their houses but still freeze I have found as many as 5 in one little house frozen when the weather would be extremly cold for several days.
by gerryb 26 Dec 2010
Oh, I hope they get all hudled in the bluebird houses! Bird feeders have been busy, busy! Of course the bluebirds don't eat at them, but do come to drink.

I am in Dothan, AL and we didn't get any! I am from CA, so snow is a novelty unless you go to the mountains, but my friends there are complaining about all the rain (unusual also) and they can't get to the mountains to enjoy the snow! Where in Bama are you lbrow?

I wish that I had your snow instead of mine. I live in SE Minnesota where we got 26 inches in one weekend and it has snowed several times since then so there is well over 30 inches on the ground. It has been a record breaking month and we still have a few days of Dec. left. Our corner of the state usually does not get snowfalls like this. Needless to say we are sick of snow. Yoriko, you wouldn't like this much snow.

I guess you just weren't 'dreaming of a white Christmas' this year.
It looks picture-book/Christmas-card beautiful but I've found out what all the rest of you already know.... snow is awfully cold stuff.
Thank you for your pictures.
