Hi Chris, It's a public holiday today 27th but we're back @ work 28th.
I go thru phases, used to be so mad about machine knitting that wouldn't touch a sewing machine, then it was the overlocker and all stretch fabrics so had "bodysuits" coming out my ears,before both of that it was sewing clothes, then came patchwork and enough fabric to start a shop, then goldwork embroidery,next cross stitch with all Chinese symbols for my children and now it's ME!!!!! Must admit machine embroidery has "grown up" since my first encounter some years ago - why I never was interested before - enjoy your day Hugs

Well, I am in love with FSL, and redwork and linework and butterflies and seahorses but have not done applique yet and my hoop is only 4x4 so haven't done ITH either. My computer monitor will also be a TV as soon as my son remembers to bring me the cable I need! He forgot it Christmas eve and promised to come down again in a few days with it, can't wait! Saw the Tourist, good movie, you will enjoy it!

Well - I have a LOVE of Lace - but I enjoy all the aspects of embroidery work, too. Hehehe. You name it - if it can be done on the embroidery machine and someone has knowledge of how to do it and they share that with me - I am going to try it out. Have fun.

Chris, I fell IN LOVE with FSL and that's what got me started in machine embroidery. I bought a small Brother machine to try out my first fsl bosl then bought the bigger Brother 1500D and am always on the lookout for that next project!! I just love all the embroidery types. Same as you.!! I made lots of the Christmas presents this year and my son in law informed me I was just having too much fun!! Now that Christmas is over, I am anxious to start concentrating on all the projects that I have going on in my head. I love doing lace ornaments,love in the hoop, love cross-stitch, love plain embroidery, all of it is so much fun. I love my hobby!! Absolutely, Chris, I know just what you mean!! I bought a design on sale at Sewing for Sara - and simply fell in love with ITH. Later I did some applique from Cute and I thought that was wonderful, and then lace ...! I believe it just shows us how versatile our machines really are!

It's a "snow day" here today; received 12" of the stuff . The schools are closed for the holidays, but most companies - it was to be "business as usual". Enjoy the movie!

Ah, thanks for this Chris. There are some brilliant replies here. I have not got into fsl as I know it will be addictive and I dont have the time. To make the cricket easier to hear ball by ball you need a very small radio. My family gave me my first one about 10 years ago. It is often glued to my ear via the earphones and I can listen to what I want. There is one problem though it makes a dreadful noise if I get close to my machine when it is plugged in. Then I put the main radio on in my room.
Like many other Cutie I have fabric all over the place but never have what I need when it comes to start sewing. Currrently the sewing room needs a clean up as there are bits everywhere. Happy addiction

I am the same way I like FSL, but after a while I see that lots of bowls and things are not really very usefull for every day living, still do lots of fsl for decorations,etc., I am now in love with appliques, you can buy a bunch in adorable appliques for very little money...and the ITH I love...It is time to start practicing the 12 steps? Nah...we are enjoying our addictions. Hugs.

We are all hopeless, aren't we? Have you tried doing "MYLAR DESIGNS"? I love doing them. I bought the ITH mylar Christmas Ornaments from Emblibrary, they are very time consuming. I still haven't tried cross-stitch designs, need to put that on my to do list. Happy New Year!

Hi Chris...I have been machine embroidering since about 1999 and have tried it all...and..love it all. I just recently bought this book "Piece in the Hoop" by Larisa Bland with DVD by Nancy Zieman. It is absolutely a wonderful new technique of piecing quilt squares and you would love it. I bought the book at Hobby Lobby but don't know if you have that store in your area.

It seems every time a new craft emerges I want to try it. When there is a demonstration at a store I try to go to them. I miss living close to my best friend as her sister taught art at a public school and was always trying out projects on us to see if it was something her students could do. In the end it is all about the price and what time is left in the day. Will be interesting to hear how you liked the movie.

I have to admit I also have a 'need' to keep buying T shirts, polo tops, table cloths, tea towels etc, on which to embroider. And those things are starting to take up almost more space than my fabric 'collection'!
