If we know what city you will be in maybe a cutie that lives close by could give you a visit. Do you have any family here in the USA? Wishing you better results this time.

Sounds like this is number 2 for you Wendy, so you don't need me to tell you that it hurts like hell. Mine was successful but it's not an operation that I recommend because the recovery is so long and so painful!! Good luck.

I hope it will be better than the right one. I have had 3 operations on my right hip, but still isn´t good yet and have to live with that says the doctor.

When I was having trouble with my right hip & all my appointmens were in the early morning I was getting quite upset as I thought my Doctor didn't believe me so I cancelled a appointment & made it for the last one of the day which turned out to be 6:30 pm so left home after vacuming & cleaning the Bathroom went shopping & window shopping didn't take any pain Killers & crawled to the doctors, the sectary took one look at me & asked what happened as it was the first time she had seen my birthmark on my face it was very dark red to Purple. I sat & when the Doc came out of his room he took one look at me and called me in before others who said they would wait. the doc had to help me out of the chair as I had no strength to get up. & every where he touched gave out a lot of pain. That night I didn't get home. within 4 weeks I saw 3 specialest & was found to have a trapped nerve
I still get sore & hot & in July 2010 after exrays on my left hip it showed that my right hip was not right so an alegy test was done & it found that I'm alergic to Nickle & crome so my left hip will be made of porcelain so I will weigh a little more. I can live with that as long as the pain goes away

Yes I know the pain, it´s very hard to have to live with that. I have a porcelain hip. I wishing you good luck.

Make sure the replacement is not made by De Puy. It's all over the Telly about them recalling that brand because of defects in them. I wish you the best & hope recovery will be uneventful./Lillian

I will be praying for a quick recovery. I didn't have PT with either of my hips, LOTS with the knees & shoulder however. So the lack of PT PROBABLY didn't slow the recovery. Hope this new ones works like a charm! Actually, after all the pain I was in before the joint replacements, the afterwards pain was less! Keep us posted soon as you can.
