this quilt was finished dec 31 after my mom started it 9 years ago as a quilt by the block while sitting with my granny after a brain hemmorrage we did the care together for 6mo and then she died on dec 31. this year I learn a new way to put quilt together that would work for the block so while I was home for a visit we went to the storage area and got the blocks and on the 31 of dec we spent the day together and I sewed it together it was a good thing help bring closure to the grief process mom is now 78

You've both done a lovely job of this. Condolences on granny's passing, too. If your mom is now 78, your gran would have been a great age.

This is a very lovely quilt and a loving story to go with it. Although it atarted on a very sad note, the finishing of it must bring alot of satisfaction to you and your Mom along with closure for your aging Mom. I hope she is in good health and gets alot of use out of it even if it is only the beauty of it and knowing the reason it was started. It is like a wonderful gift to the both of you to have finally decided it was time to complete this memory quilt! Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us! May it be an heirloom through many generations! Hugs and blessings, Linda

Love the quilt and the story behind it. Hope you and your dear mother are able to enjoy it for many more years together. My dear hubby passed away this past June 22nd. I have his nice dress shirts I want to make something out of. Maybe a couple small quilts for my 2 kids or pillows for each of my 5 grandchildren and each of my kids. Still thinking about it and so undecided. Just hard right now to cut them apart. a flower for you. Hugs Judy
