It looks very neat - but more like a plate than a bowl! I think you will need to adjust the shape of the side pieces for experiment#4. Trial and error is the way I usually learn as well.

Hmmm, how do we make it be a bowl? I have the same pattern but don't know how we would do it. Let me know if you figure it out. As it stand, I like it as a doily, set a small plant on it or a little candy dish. Put it in the center of the kitchen table and make matching place mats. My table is so cluttered I can't put anything nice on it, my whole house is that way, need to get rid of mostly hubby's stuff, have to keep mine, lol!

Oh dear, your house sounds lots like mine. Can't be anywhere near as bad though -trust me on that!
Oh, I would put money up that my house is more of a mess than yours, lol, but serious!
You need to make the tops of the side pieces narrower - the more you take off, the less flat it will be. Experiment with paper or card until you get the shape you want.

This looks really good Carolyn. I've been meaning to do one (or a set even, with a bowl) for so long. I'm sure I have purchased sets and they are someplace! I think the pieces become narrower towards the centre to make bowls, don't they? Not sure. You've done a great job with this, anyway.
