Goodness, I'd surely think your Viking store would have had them. You could try Joanns or you can use a topstitch 90 needle. It has a larger eye and may work for you. If I'm remembering correctly, that is what they used before they had the metallic needles (ask your dealer). I'm sure there are sites online to order from but I've not had any problems getting them at the Viking store. Good luck in that hay stack!

You can try the needle sections at Shoppers Rule - I bought several packs of needles some time ago - you can make them an offer at what you want to pay, and they could accept it - but most times they are on sale. Too - look in the sale area

Hello. I am in UK. Try Madeira (the thread people). I have some metalic needles in a plastic case in a bubble-pack on a card. They are made by Schmetz but it also says Madeira on the card. I think I bought mine from a local sewing shop which has since closed down. Also have a look on eBay, you will most likely find some on there.

I have a schmetz needle pamphlet with their needles and useage and it saids that the quilting needle 130/705 H-Q sizes Nm 80 and Nm 90 is for Metallic threads. Personally I just use the standard embroidery needle and slow the speed down on the machine

I only ever use SCHMETZ needles and have attached a picture of what they look like. All good sewing/haberdashery stores should sell them. If not write to SCHMETZ and ask where your closest dealer is. I looked up the internet and found this address - the spots on this map are the dealers in your country.

I also use the metallic needle but have found them readily at Joanns. They are more expensive than the regular needles but I only use them for metallics so they last forever. My husqvarna dealer is a joke, they don't carry the metallic needle so they will always sell me something 'just as good', never seems to work as well. Good luck....

I purchase Schmetz at the JoAnn. See the picture below from pennifold of what the package looks like. You should also be able to get them at Mulqueens or 35th Ave Sew and Vac out there in Mesa/Chandler respectively.

I can't imagine a Viking store not carrying special needles! They are forever telling you to use this or that needle! Maybe you need to speak with the mananger/ower about it. If she/he doesn't know the employees are so untrained, she needs to do some training!! But JoAnns has always had them in their needle section. As well as Hancocks and I bet Hobby Lobby has them too.
