1. Does anyone have their machine attatched to a serge protector?

2. Does anyone have their machine insured. if so is it on the household insureance or is it on its own insurance?

Thanks for all replies. The insurance is a topic I am thinking about and am intereted in others comments. Flowers to all for help received

All my machines are attached to a surge surpressor. Also my computer as well. I do not have my machines insured individually just as part of my household contents on the home policy. I never checked into what pricing would be to insure them individually. Hugs, Mary

To answer your questions:
1-ABSOLUTELY I have all of my electronics plugged into a surge protector! I had a lightening strike hit a fenceline close by about 3 yrs. ago and it fried all electronics not protected.
2-Yes, both of my embroidery machines (a single needle and a 6-needle) are insured. They are separately listed items on my home insurance policy. According to my ins. guy, that is OK to do since I don't sew commercially.

HTH. Good luck

I have surge protector on my machine and both my machines are included in my household policy as when I checked it was to expensive to insure separately.

Mine is surge protected and I unplug from the outlet when not in use. Insurance covers the machines and we have taken pictures of most everything important in the house and sent them to online storage.

1. It is not pluged up unless I am using it.
2. Did not think about it.

I have all my machines and PC's attactched to serger protectors - when we lived in North Carolina - my DH lost two PC's at two different times - do to electrical storms - lightening hit the house or telephone wires and fried his PC - so even though - we had the serge protector - it was the wiring that did the PC's in.

We would do the insurance of the machines' if we could ever figure out what we will do about our health insurance - my machines and our apartment contents would need to be in a policy for apartment rental or something like that - I am trying to figure out the best way to go with that, too.

Yes I have all my electronic devices on a surge protector. Homeowners insurance covers my machine at full replacement cost.

I have my pc and my embroidery machines on seperate surge protecters.
My household insurance I have to photograph and provide any written evidence for anything over the value of £1000.

Yes - all of our electics are protected, some by surge protectors, and some by UPS systems. That way if we lose power we can turn everything off without a chance of damage. All of our computer systems, TV and my machines are on their own UPS. But, when we do lose power, we sure have a lot of chirping all over the house. LOL Our homewoner covers the machines.
